@MartinWoolleyUK @evcarmike @marksbrady1 @mikejelfs @KateFantom @EpicWinningMaz @au_tom_otive @raimonick @BadgerInBlack @blackmore_s @Gill_Nowell I haven’t found weight to make much of a difference. I think the bigger wheels and tires (increased rolling resistance) larger size car (aero) makes the biggest difference. Drag coefficient play a big part at higher speed. Think it’s one reason Zoe & i3 seem worse than S @ 70mph
@fogey @KateFantom @Simon_Telford @ecocars1 @NissanEV_UK @FullyChargedShw @pluginadventure That’s what I mean about drag coefficient. I don’t think my Zoe was much better than Model X at 70mph. The faster you go the more the drag coefficient matters, & Tesla’s excel at getting a low drag coefficient. I also wonder if the motors are towards their limit in Zoe at speed.
@FredBorloo @FullyChargedDan I think it does have some baring on ranges. For example the Zoe with a worse drag coefficient than the Tesla is almost the same W/h consumption at 70mph. While at 40mph the Zoe is more efficient. The faster u go the difference in range gets disproportionately bigger Tesla vrs Zoe
