Many. One example here, This 30-year old guy lived like a CEO in Gurugram, till a UK hacker unmasked him. Around midnight, a black Porsche bearing the number 0001 would screech to a halt at DLF Magnolias. Clad in a designer suit, Amit Chauhan would walk briskly to the lift to go to his flat, for which he paid a rent of Rs 5 lakh per month. Chauhan’s lavish lifestyle had begun in January 2019 and he appeared comfortable, cheating people in faraway Britain while running a perfectly legal business, a travel agency — Faremart Travels which was just a namesake agency and behind its name he was running a call center in a building which he entirely owns. The call center was used to lure people with false Windows repair calls to mount malware attacks and then offered the cure for a huge fees. Everyone was running smoothly until he received a call from Jim Browning, an ethical hacker. A few months later, he again received a call from the UK, this time from the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) which sought to know the source of his income and asked him if he was running a fake call centre. six months after the BBC dialed Chauhan’s phone, police came knocking at his doors. All this happened after BBC came out with a documentary on the fake call centre that got Gurugram police’s attention. The documentary was the result of an investigation by Browning, who used “reverse hacking” to gain access to the systems and CCTV cameras used in the bogus call centre that Chauhan had set up in Udyog Vihar, Gurugram. So, sitting in his home in the UK, Browning could see youngsters here speaking over the phone in heavily accented English. He contacted BBC, which tried to reach out to Chauhan. The BBC then came out with the documentary on YouTube. Later police investigations revealed he earned a total of 3 crore through these scams. Delhi-NCR has blipped prominently on the radar of police in different countries as it has emerged as a hotbed of bogus call centres that are run under the garb of legitimate companies. Many of them have targeted people in the US, UK, Canada and Mexico. The office building This is how we bring our name down in other countries. Imagine you traveling to one of these countries and asking for help from someone who got cheated by these people once. Bill Gates loves Porsche, and the Taycan is a stunning car with superb specs 250 mile range (Model S 390 miles) 0–100km/h 2.6s (Performance Model S 2.4) (take this with a grain of salt, the Taycan beat the Tesla in a 1/4 mile drag race, it’s got stronger acceleration I’d bet due to its superior drag coefficient) 0 - 200km/h 9.8sec (versus the Model S Performance 11.1s) It’s a much faster car than the Tesla in high speed scenarios, and handles a ,lot ,better, perhaps Bill has bought a track or intends on driving his car for fun. The new Plaid Model S will be better round a track, though, but that’s not available yet. The Taycan also looks a lot better, some would say that’s taste, to be honest the gap is so wide I think it’s objective fact. The Taycan is gorgeous, and for a Porsche lover, doubly so. Gates misses out on the supercharger network. Which is a huge disadvantage for most people, but he’s probably figured out he has charging stations near him and on his possible journeys. The other downside is safety, two Tesla Model X drivers here in the UK just got saved from a falling tree by the auto-emergency brake system in the Tesla. The Porsche doesn’t have this feature. In short, the Taycan has ample range for most, is far better around a track than a Model S and has superior aesthetics, interior and exterior. It’s a great purchase, and arguably a much nicer toy than a Model S, which is exactly what Gates will be using it as. Coming from a huge Tesla fan, by the way, I wouldn’t buy anything but Tesla. But I can definitely see why he bought a Taycan.
I’ve owned both and can agree with a mix of the other answers, but will add ‘usable performance’. Having had 3 Boxsters and a 911s I can tell you that the main difference (until the latest one) was that in any gear at any time in the 911 you can risk losing your license. In the vast majority of cases for everyday driving, you simply can’t use the performance on offer. My first 987 2.5 Boxster was a blast; you can fly through the gears and still hold on to your license. Basically I could use the car through most of the rev range and gears and not worry about getting banned. When I traded up to the 911s it was in different territory altogether. I was averaging about 16mpg and not able to get anywhere near the limits of performance (if I wanted to stay within the law and alive). I have to agree with others in terms of interior as well. The newer the model, the nicer the interior and the more creature comforts. My latest I bought brand new and have kept for 2 1/2 years despite changing every year before that. We’ve reached the point in performance terms where each incremental change is going to be so slight as to be almost irrelevant in daily driving. My latest Boxster GTS will hit 60mph in 5 seconds and get close to 180mph and 30mpg. There’s only so many improvements you can make (and perceive in normal conditions) from there. The 911 991 (first gen non turbo) will ‘just’ beat that by maybe 0.1 seconds 0–60 and 5–10mph top speed. At that level it’s the driver not the car. They’re both great but to me newer is now better. **EDIT** Sorry, I forgot to mention the reason that I bought mine new. I wanted a manual gearbox. The ‘trouble’ with a used 911 or any other Porsche is that 90%+ of them will come with a PDK gearbox and I just didn’t want one. Of the 107 used 911 Convertibles currently on the UK approved list there are 6 manuals. Good luck with finding the spec and colour you want from those. New was the only way to go. (I realise this sounds spoilt!)
NOTE: This answer refers to the original “dual floating border” proposal from Mr Johnson, a plainly ridiculous ploy which was summarily rejected. Mr Johnson has now proposed a similar deal to Mrs May’s failed proposal of December 2017, which has met EU approval: ,What is the new Brexit deal for the Britain and European Union? ORIGINAL ANSWER: I wish people would look at the logic and facts instead of the inflammatory rhetoric and lies. One such inflammatory lie is this poster: The use of the word “,Kraut,” says it all. ,The height of xenophobic idiocy,. The “Krauts” have invested billions in the UK, offered employment to hundreds of thousands of UK citizens and every aspiring Brit wants a BMW, Porsche or Mercedes car. Also, the UK did not “win” 2 world wars, because the Americans won them, together with our allies. And nobody is pushing the UK around. The UK is pushing itself out of the EU by its own lies, deranged sense of entitlement and incompetence. If the propaganda game now is to recall the past, then please let us not forget the Irish Famine, the Opium Wars, the ,Great Bengal Famine, (where 10 million people died) in a country ruled and controlled by Britain, amongst many other British atrocities. So, how about recalling the times when the UK murderously pushed around poorer countries? How about having some ,pride ,in being ,really ,British,? Too many people often confuse incompetence with sincerity. Well, they are two very different things; just because someone is sincerely incompetent does not mean that you should trust them at all. As ,Malky McEwan, says wisely: ,it is OK to be uninformed but it is definitely ,not ,OK to be uninformed and opinionated. And that is what Mr Johnson and the Leave campaign have been very good at: (1) ,keeping people uninformed of the real facts,, and (2) ,feeding baseless opinions for people to regurgitate,. If you still think Leave is a good option for the UK, then please just answer 2 simple questions, because these 2 questions should have been addressed first in detail before invoking Article 50: What is the logical rational reason for No-Deal Brexit?, ,Let’s explore the most rational reasons for Brexit properly and in detail How does one measure the "success" of Brexit?, ,It cannot be that Brexit is automatically a success just because we left the world’s largest trade bloc, our biggest customer, our largest economic partner - that would simply be ridiculous But to answer the question, my personal opinion (and it is only an opinion, please note) is that ,nothing, ,will happen by Halloween 2019. The UK will remain in the EU, a new general election will be called and so on. The reasons and some possible outcomes are clearly and simply explained in: Is a no deal Brexit still a possibility?
Hate to disappoint you, but many drive like anyone else: Elon Musk has a Tesla Model S, of course. Mark Zuckerberg drives a black Volkswagen GTI, but he also has an Acura TSX Bill Gates used to drive to his office in a Ford Focus, but he had a few Porsches for fun. Steve Balmer drives a Ford Fusion Hybrid as he grew up in Detroit, and his father worked for Ford. Jeff Bezos was well known for driving around in an old 2006 Honda Accord Ingvar Kamprad, who founded Ikea, drives a 1993 Volvo 240 Sam Walton, who founded Wal-Mart famously drove around in old pickup. His daughter drives around in a 2006 Ford F-150. According to the book "The Millionaire Next Door", the Ford F-150 is one of the most popular vehicles for millionaires. Warren Buffet drives a Cadillac DTS, which he bought during the financial crisis to show support for GM. It was recently auctioned off for charity: ,Buy This Used Cadillac, Meet Warren Buffett Michael Dell drives a 2004 Porsche Boxster that's worth about $20,000 Eric Schimdt from Google drives a Toyota Prius Some of them have flashier rides: Larry Ellison has a collection of super cars including a McLaren F1. Michael Bloomberg and Nike founder Phil Knight both drive an Audi R8. Richard Branson flies a lot, but while in the UK famously drives a $125,000 + Gibbs Aquada amphibious car which he often uses to cross the English Channel.
Here is a random list of things that Germany does better than Britain. It's by no means a comprehensive list but at least starts to give a flavour for how much better at stuff Germany is than the UK. In fact the only thing that I can think of that Britain does better is graphic design, which, to be honest, is as it should be, the UK is a world leader in graphic design. Okay so let's start with the art of motorway driving. Germans are much better at driving on motorways! That's because they invariably move over and let faster cars go by. So even just a two lane autobahn does not get clogged up with daydreamers in the fast lane, as it does, not just in Britain, but in the rest of the world too. On top of that there are no speed limits, well on some autobahns. Imagine that! Football. Germany v England? ‘Nuff said…not even going to go there. German armies, (less so Navies), but their armies usually require the combined efforts of all the rest of the world to subdue. ‘Nuff said…, Speciality Chemicals, heck ordinary commodity Chemicals, paints, plastics, glues, pharmaceuticals. Germany has multiple world-class companies, while you struggle to think of any outside of pharma for the UK. Houses. Germany makes great houses, with huge front doors, generous rooms with big solid windows set into solid infrastructures and generally of high aesthetic quality. Meanwhile theUK’s housing is blighted by awfully poor vernacular design, terrible quality, lousy build times, shrinking room size and all caused byvthe pursuit of cost over quality. Injection moulding machines. The UK used to make plastic injection moulding machines, once upon a time. But not for years now. Meanwhile Germany has multiple world leading injection moulding machine makers! That is but one example of a million niche business to business machines, products, and services at which Germany excells and has thriving producers of. The UK culturally just does not recognise or value these types of companies, the ones that look so boring as you drive by trading estates on the grey edges of towns. When I first started coming into contact with German companies I was most impressed by how important competence was to them. Being really good at what you do. You don't see that attitude nailed like a manifesto to the company flagstaff in the UK. UK companies are run by accountants. That's why we are next going to talk about…. German cars. BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, AUDI for Germany and for the UK erm, um, mmm, Toyota, Honda and Nissan. Nuff said. No, not enough said. How?! How is it possible that the UK managed to end up, in the 1970s, with a crap company called BL, making absolutely shitty cars called Princesses? While Germay was about to embark on the transformation of what a car design can be and for the benefit of all mankind. Culminating in BMW buying the Mini Cooper brand and resuscitating it too, saving the mini from certain death at the hands of British, no vision, accountants. Recycling. Germany has been doing it longer and much better than Britain. Wind powered electricity. There are days when Germany produces more wind powered electricity than it needs and sells the excess to its neighbors! England will run out of power stations soon, while pouring money into the white elephant that is Hinckley instead of getting a better nuclear technology. Germany meanwhile, crazily, has switched off its nuclear program! But at least Germanyv has wind power . Communal snow clearing. I lived in a little town near Stuttgart, Germany, one winter and, early on every morning that it snowed, I joined my neighbors out on the footpath clearing my patch of pavement. Now I've spent much longer living in London and for old people the snow makes London street and theircwonky pavements seriously dangerous, but does anybody go out and clear in front of their doorstep? No… Exhibitions. Germany hosts and organizes huge, important exhibitions at multiple vast halls in venues scattered around its thriving regional cities. The UK has the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) and conducts exhibitions with all the aplomb of a night out bowling, amateurish and parochial. German exhibitions constantly innovate and grow, UK exhibitions atrophy due to total lack of imagination. The thing is Germany does a lot of things really well, because the thing Germany loves above everything else is being good at stuff just for the sake of being bloody good at it. Now British people can be too, when they have a mind to, but really for application and diligence Germany just comes out tops. ThevUK school report would say, got talent butvcould try harder, and stop trying to do everything on the cheap. Quality suffers as a consequence. If the British weren't so stubbornly intent on staring enviously west they might realise what a brilliant place they have right on their doorstep. Germany is full of great ideas but the British ignore it. Well in general they do, there are a whole bunch of Brits however working for companies that do business in Germany who get to see how impressive Germany is first hand. I know guys who make special trips to Germany to buy their new bathrooms. But they are the exception. It's Britain’s loss really.
Speaking as an American who avoids automatic transmissions (counting family cars assigned to me in my youth, I’ve “owned” six daily drivers with manuals and just two with automatics), I don’t really know—there are probably a lot of reasons. Let me suggest one reason: In the US of A, a car is pretty much a necessity. Unless you live in Manhattan you’ll need to go places you can’t get to without a car. Thus, [virtually] all Americans have to learn how to drive and quite a few of our younger citizens want to learn the easy way. Not everybody who drives is a ,car nut,. There’s also been an evolution. For baby boomers, if you couldn’t drive a manual transmission you hadn’t completely learned how to drive. As the market share of manual transmissions slipped, that belief slipped away and folks in their 30s will say ridiculous things like “,There’s no need whatsoever to learn how to drive a stick shift.,” There are anomalies: Interestingly, Porsche’s biggest market for manual transmissions is America. I think something like 20% of Porsches sent to America have manual transmissions (and only Porsche sports cars have a standard “standard” transmission—no SUVs or sedans sent here have manuals). My interpretation is that Americans who really like cars have a strong feeling that someone should ,hold the line,. In the late 1970s/early 1980s Honda made some motorcycles with automatic transmissions. Some guys bought big 750A touring bikes but the 450 twin was intended to get girls to buy motorcycles. It tanked—no girl who would buy a motorcycle would be caught dead on a ,girly ,bike.

This is Richard Pusey. He was in his car, driving on a Melbourne freeway last year when he was pulled over by four officers for speeding. While the officers were making his arrest, all four were struck by a passing lorry that had veered out of its lane. Senior Constables Lynette Taylor and Kevin King and Constables Glen Humphris and Josh Prestney died at the scene. Pusey avoided the crash, but afterwards pulled out his phone and began filming for over three minutes. He stood over and taunted Senior Constable Taylor as she remained pinned under the lorry. Experts said she was most likely still alive at the time. "There you go. Amazing, absolutely amazing," he said, according to vision from the constable's body-worn camera. "All I wanted was to go home and have some sushi," he added, before using expletives to blame the officers for ruining his Porsche sports car”. He fled the scene on Melbourne's Eastern Freeway shortly. Today, he admitted to the rare charge of outraging public decency as well as drug and other offences. There is no maximum penalty for the charge in Australian law. Reading that story is what made my blood boil today. Instead of helping the dying officers, he mocked them and fled in his Porsche. Source: ,Richard Pusey: Australian admits filming taunts of dying policewoman This case reminds me of a similar parallel, except it was in the UK: a man, Anthony Anderson, was jailed for urinating on a woman, Christine Lakinski. He had no diagnosed mental illnesses and was smoking a blunt with his friends when they targeted the woman; perhaps the worst part was the fact a crowd gathered and laughed at the woman who was later pronounced dead as a result of pancreatic failure (,Man jailed for urinating on woman,). Is the world truly so cruel that people find joy in the suffering of others?
UK answer. There are two types of Range Rover owners: Those who actually use them to yomp off-road around their places in the country Those who use them to take up a lot of road space in urban areas, and wouldn’t dream of getting them muddy The first of these groups can be considered to have a status symbol, though among this crowd, having an older model is seen as better than having a new one. The Porsche SUV is bought by company directors with mid-life crises big enough to want a sports car, but enough attachment to their families not to buy one. Which group do you want to signal you membership of?
