What is the basis for the original Toyota Landcruiser design?

When the Korean war broke out the US Government felt the Japanese self-defense force should have domestically produced vehicles which led to the 2400 pound Jeep BJ matching the Willys Jeep specifications. In 1954 Willys decided that violated their Jeep trademark so the Jeep BJ became a Land Cruiser BJ. The FJ25 followed in 1955 which evolved into the 1960 J40 built on the same chassis - FJ40 with gas engine, BJ40 and HJ40 with Diesel. Using the F straight-six gasoline engine they weighed 3300 pounds with a soft top and 3400 with a hard top. The J40 was produced until 1984. Long wheel base wagons, troop carriers, and pickups were produced alongside the J40, like the 1963-1967 J45.
