Toyota has finally unveiled the facelifted Fortuner alongside the equally-new Hilux. However, this is more than just a Fortuner with a prettier face, because Toyota has updated almost every aspect of their popular three-row midsize SUV/pick-up based passenger vehicle (PPV). As for the engine, most variants will be powered by the same 2.4-liter inline-4 turbo diesel engine that produces 150 hp and 343 Nm for the 6-speed manual and 400 Nm for the 6-speed automatic, with both configurations driving the rear wheels. The 2.8-liter diesel engine gets a power bump for this year–now producing 204 hp and 500 Nm of torque. This engine is exclusive to the Legender and is equipped as standard with a 6-speed automatic and 4WD. Toyota is also keen to note that the Fortuner’s 850 rpm idle has been reduced to 680 rpm for better traction when going off-road and increased fuel efficiency. The Fortuner’s ride and handling have also been tweaked for better comfort and handling. The new Toyota Fortuner is now on sale in Thailand, while other markets will follow shortly. This, of course, includes the Philippines. All Credits to TOYOTA CC Via: Cars PH
